I served as National President of the American Society of Psychoanalytic Physicians and was the first Managing Editor of International Psychoanalysis, an online psychoanalytic resource, and am currently its first Executive Editor. I am also Managing Editor of IPBooks. Some publications for popular audiences include Between Us: A Father and Son Speak, co-authored with Dr. Eugene Friedberg, Love’s Way, and most recently Flashing Seven: The Essential Skills for Living and Leading, co-authored with Dr. Jack Hirschowitz. I have also published in peer-reviewed scientific journals including The Psychoanalytic Review, The American Journal of Psychoanalysis, and Psychodynamic Psychiatry.
My professional writings have been cited in scientific journals and other publications. I have appeared as a cultural expert on CNN and Fox 5 and been quoted in the Wall Street Journal. As part of a voluntary faculty, I participate in leading translational research in mood and anxiety conditions and the neuroscience of resilience.
